National Carers Week was on 5th - 11th June 2023; we spent it in the community, celebrating everything that unpaid carers do for the Gateshead, and the UK in general. There are two major highlights to Gateshead's Carers Week 2023, the launch event of Giving Care in Gateshead - a new report and film and our Party in the Park.

Giving Care in Gateshead launch event

What is Gateshead's best kept secret? We believe that it's the huge community of carers throughout the borough. Over the last 6 months, Dr. Dan Taylor from the Open University has been working with Gateshead Carers to understand the challenges facing unpaid carers and how to make life better for all carers. On Tuesday 6th June, we held a launch event in which we released our new report on this matter and premiered our latest short film: Giving Care in Gateshead.

Party in the Park - 9th June 2023

On Friday 9th July, our annual Party in the Park returned for the first time in over 5 years! We were joined by some of our friends including Your Voice Counts and Healthwatch Gateshead to offer an afternoon of fun in the sun for everyone! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a gorgeous day in front of Saltwell Towers. We're really looking forward to seeing you at next year's Party in the Park.
