Fundraising ideas

Everybody has a passion, a skill or a hobby and we would love you to be able to use yours to directly help unpaid carers!

So imagine bursting (or staggering!) over the finish line, knowing you have helped build a new life for an unpaid carer!

If baking and crafting is your thing then why not let your cakes raise some much needed funds to provide a short break for a carer who hasn’t had any time for themselves in over two years!

Unleash your creative side and get some crafts all sewn up ready to sell at your next community event in the knowledge that you will be helping carers feel less isolated by attending our wellbeing activities.

As a registered charity we very much rely on the generosity of our supporters and donors. With your help and passion, we can be there for carers when they need someone to listen to them. By giving a regular donation, setting up a trust fund, signing up for an event or organising your own, you’ll be making a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers in Gateshead.

We absolutely loved our short break at Caldew House. It took a while to be persuaded that we deserved a break but it was the best decision we made to go and we went all over the Lakes sight-seeing and loved the tranquillity and peace.

  • £5  Donating a regular amount of £5 a month for one year, will enable us to provide wellbeing sessions to support 20 carers throughout the year.
  • £10  By gifting £10 a month, you will be helping to provide 4 carers with a much needed short break at our holiday home Caldew House in Cumbria.
  • £45 A gift of £45 will provide a 1-2-1 confidential session for a carer to meet with an experienced Carer Wellbeing Facilitator.

We know that many people contribute to their favourite charities, so if you have been helped by the work of Gateshead Carers and would like to support us financially you can do so in the following ways.

How You Can Help

There are lots of ways you can help raise money for Gateshead Carers. Why not hold a sponsored event, coffee morning, dress-down day at your place of work or ask if you can make a collection. What about selling homemade lemonade, or asking for donations instead of birthday/wedding gifts!

Create a fundraising page or donate to our latest appeal. Volunteer to run the Great North Run, Blaydon Race or another local event in aid of Gateshead Carers or sign up for one of our sponsored events like walking a stretch of Hadrian’s Wall, or simply make a donation. You can help the work of Gateshead Carers right now by contacting us on 0191 4900121.

Make a Regular Donation

If you would like to make regular donations to Gateshead Carers you can set up a Direct Debit so that a fixed amount is donated to us each month. Download the Direct Debit mandate form here then simply print and complete. Return the completed Direct Debit mandate form to us at: Finance Office, John Haswell House, 8-9 Gladstone Terrace, Gateshead, NE8 4DY.

A Helping Hand for the Future

Some carers choose to help Gateshead Carers by setting up a trust fund or leaving a gift in their will to Gateshead Carers. If you would like to find out more information please call us on 01914900121.

Raise Funds while Shopping Online

If you do quite a bit of online shopping and would like to support us in raising free funds, consider starting your online shopping with Give as You Live. Read more about it here.

Donate prizes

Raffles or competitions are a popular way to raise funds so we are always looking for prizes! Whether it’s vouchers, signed merchandise, a meal for two or a trip away, if you can we would love to credit you for your donation.

Gifts In Kind

By giving a Gift in kind, your company can support Gateshead Carers through donating:

• Products

• Services

• Professional advice

Gifts in kind are a great way to utilise your company's assets and professional skills, while achieving your Corporate Social Responsibility goals. By giving a Gift in kind, you will help us save valuable time and resources.
