  • Brussel Sprouts (as many as you'd like)
  • 6 rashers of streaky bacon
  • 100g Either fresh Chestnuts or vacuum-packed Chestnuts
  • 50g butter.

Method

  1. Bring the sprouts to a boil and then turn the heat down and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  2. Drain the sprouts under a cold tap then allow to cool and drain again.
  3. Heat a dry frying pan and fry the rashers of bacon, then chop them into pieces.
  4. Chop the Chestnuts roughly, then fry in the pan that you used for the bacon, for about 10 minutes.
  5. Add all the ingredients into the pan with a splash of cold water and then cover and cook for another 5 – 10 minutes or until the sprouts are tender. Stirring occasionally.
  6. Uncover the pan add the butter and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  7. Lastly, put the sprout mixture into a bowl and enjoy.
