If walking 13 miles along Hadrian’s Wall is not for you, but you would love to set your own walk challenge, then why not do your own thing in our 25,000 Steps Challenge!

There are many ways you can get involved.  All you need to do is choose one of the 25,000 step challenges below and complete your challenge by Sunday 13th June.

Perhaps, like Captain Tom, you would like to walk around your garden and clock up 25,000 steps during Carers Week! You may prefer to walk up and down your street or around your local park. Here are some other ideas:

Stairway Challenge: Choose a summit, work out how many times you need to climb your stairs and then plan the time needed to complete your challenge.

Treadmill Challenge: Take on the 25,000 steps on a treadmill either at home or at your local gym. It's a great way to do the challenge at a pace that works for you!

Cumulative total: If you can’t walk every day during Carers Week, team up with others to collectively smash the step target. You can even set up a team on our website and each of you can create your own fundraising pages.

Wheelchair or mobility scooter options: If you’re a wheelchair or mobility scooter user, set a target of 25,000 pushes or use an odometer to track distance then convert to steps. 1km = 1,250 steps.

One challenge, your rules!  With any exercise challenge, know your limits and don’t overdo it. Keep yourself hydrated and don’t forget to reward yourself for your efforts!

1 mile a day = an average of between 2,000 - 2,500 walking steps a day. So you may like to complete your 25,000 steps over 10 days.

Set your fundraising target and don’t forget to ask your friends and family if they would like to sponsor you – every £1 donation is another step in the right direction!

Sign up on our website to let us know you are holding your own Wall Walk Challenge event and download our fundraising pack to ensure your event is even more special! It contains templates for your invitation, poster, flyer, donation bucket label and a sponsorship form, which you can use for donations for those wishing to gift aid their donation to your event.  Donations can also be made online from your fundraising page.

We’d love you to share your photos with us too and to let us know how your event or challenge is going, which you can do by uploading them to your fundraising page or by emailing us at [email protected]
