Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well and have been enjoying this extremely hot weather. I personally cannot cope with the heat. I must be the only person who has been getting a red face by nagging the family for leaving a mess in the kitchen instead of suffering from sunstroke, haha!

It has been quite a while since I wrote a blog for Susie's World, but unfortunately, having 3 close family members in hospital and lots of other things going on in the background, I haven't had the time. A few things are going on that will only get worse, but still, I am hoping to make time to continue blogging as I do enjoy doing this as it is a great way of being distracted.

Well, what have I been up to over the Summer? Apart from hospital visits, doctors and hospital appointments, not an awful lot. Although my husband and I have tried to concentrate on getting our gardens sorted, which has been a great way of relaxing as well as having something nice to look at. Our front border is currently filled with flowers, and not only does this bring pleasure to us, but also I have had a few random people say that when they are feeling down, they always enjoy walking past our garden which is nice to hear. The best part for me is around 9 o'clock at night when it is a lot cooler, and I can water the plants - I find it so peaceful and really enjoy time just for me.

I still can't believe that the Summer is nearly over; where is the time going? It only seems like five minutes since I was buying sun tan lotions and aftersuns; then this morning, when cleaning out my first aid cupboard, I was looking at our supplies of cough medicines and cold and flu remedies in preparation for the Autumn/Winter. I'm always being accused of "wishing our lives away"; however I like to call it being prepared, haha!

One person who has kept me going over the past few months has been my granddaughter, although I think my daughter might be restricting visits soon due to Charlotte's new fascinations. Firstly she has taken quite a liking for my walking stick. So much that she went shopping around Washington Galleries last week with her toy gardening spade, using it as a walking aid and kept telling everyone, "my legs aren't as good as they used to be!". Also, my husband has always had an obsession with checking the weather forecast and always looks on the gloomy side. As a result, Charlotte now gets up every morning, looks out of her bedroom window and says, "Those clouds don't look good, I think it is going to rain". My daughter says she has been doing this at nursery too by telling the staff they should check the weather forecast before letting the children play outside which they all think is comical. I know children copy what they see and hear, but she is now sighing and grunting when getting out of chairs; I have been told I am responsible for this, but I am sure that I don't make as much noise as Charlotte does, although as my daughter keeps reminding me "out of the mouths of babes" so she is probably right.

Well, I had better go now as I need to get ready for my next medical appointment, plus I need to start writing my Christmas Card List... no, only joking, that isn't until next month, haha!

Take care of yourselves and speak soon.
Susie x
