To give you a little inspiration, we have made a list of local carer-friendly groups, activities, and opportunities between July and September. The sessions are solely for parent carers, unfortunately children are not accommodated for. SEND Swimming Sessions Dunston & Blaydon Leisure Centre Gateshead Council Dunston: Saturdays 10am-11am Blaydon: Sundays 3pm-4pm Sensory Kidz The Elgin Centre - Deckham Gateshead Council Fridays 1:30 - 3pm. For children up to 5 years old. Play and sensory activities for the children are delivered by experienced staff. National Autism-Friendly Cinema Screenings UK-Wide, including all local cinemas. Dimensions Lots of upcoming autism-friendly cinema screenings. Activities for all Carers; Activity Where Organised By Notes Dementia Caregivers Group Leam Lane Community Centre Leam Lane Community Centre Fortnightly on Wednesdays: 1-3pm. August 24th September: 7th, 21st A group for people who care for someone with Dementia to come together and take a break from their caring role. Men's Shed Groups Blaydon Library, plus more across the UK Men's Shed For men over 18. £1 per session. A wide range of things to do and get involved with.
