Are
you a carer?
A carer is someone who looks after a relative
or friend who is ill, disabled, elderly, or in
need of emotional support. You may be a parent, husband
or wife, son or daughter, friend or neighbour
but
if you support someone on a regular basis, you
are also a carer. Being a carer often brings its
own rewards
but it can also be very hard
work, both physically and emotionally.
Carers need information about
the services which can help to keep them going,
and may need to talk to someone who understands
how difficult it can be.
We
are here to help
We are a registered charity
(number 1118942), whose aim is to support, inform
and represent carers.
Gateshead Carers Association is a member of the Princess
Royal Trust for Carers. This gives us the support
of a national framework, access to funds, campaign
materials and the latest research.
