Who is a carer?

A carer is someone who looks after a relative or friend who is ill, disabled, elderly or has mental ill health.

You may be a parent, husband or wife, son or daughter, friend or neighbour … but if you support someone on a regular basis, you are also a carer.

Gateshead Carers Association (GCA) can help!

We support, inform and represent carers who live in Gateshead, or care for somebody who lives in the area.

We cover the entire borough including: Rowlands Gill, Ryton, Chopwell, Birtley, Kibblesworth and Whickham.

If in doubt, give us a call.
